1. What is the NACCA Awards Gala? The NACCA Awards Gala is an event celebrating outstanding achievements within the Indigenous Financial Institution (IFI) business community. It will be held on Wednesday, May 7th, recognizing excellence in entrepreneurship and leadership.

2. What is the deadline for submitting nominations? All nominations must be submitted via Awardify by February 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST.

3. Who is eligible to be nominated? Eligibility criteria vary by award category. Nominees must meet the specific requirements outlined in each award description. Generally, nominees must be Indigenous entrepreneurs, community businesses, or IFI leaders. The nominee must have been nominated by an Indigenous Financial Institution.

4. How do I access the Awardify platform to submit a nomination? Visit the NACCA Awardify platform via the link provided in the IFI communication

email or naccaforum.com. Use the public forms, create an account or log in to begin your nomination.

5. Can I nominate the same individual or business for multiple awards? Yes, as long as the nominee meets the eligibility criteria for each category.

6. What supporting documents are required for nominations? You will need to include:

o A completed nomination form.

o A brief biography or organizational profile.

o A statement of accomplishments related to the award category.

o How to strengthen the submission (Optional): Letters of support, photos, or videos.

7. Can I submit a nomination in French? Yes, Forms for nominations are accepted in both English and French.

NOTES: Awardify does not support multilingual functionality. While French forms are available, a translator will be required to review and assess submissions completed in French.

Award-Specific FAQs 

1. Indigenous Woman Entrepreneur Award Nomination

o Who can be nominated? Any Indigenous woman entrepreneur demonstrating leadership and business excellence.

o Criteria: A proven record of growth, innovation, and community impact.

2. Indigenous Youth Entrepreneur Award Nomination

o Who qualifies as "youth"? Nominees must be aged 35 or younger at the time of nomination.

o Criteria: Recognizes young Indigenous entrepreneurs showing creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.

3. Indigenous Community Business of the Year Award Nomination

o What defines a "community business"? A business owned or operated by an Indigenous community or collective, demonstrating significant contributions to community development.

4. Indigenous Business of the Year Award Nomination

o Who can be nominated? An Indigenous-owned business with notable achievements, strong financial performance, and a positive community impact.

5. IFI Distinguished Leader Award Nomination

o Who is eligible? An individual within the IFI network who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to advancing Indigenous economic prosperity.

o Criteria: Long-term impact and significant contributions to the IFI network.

6. IFI Innovation Award Nomination

o What qualifies as "innovation"? Creative solutions or groundbreaking initiatives implemented by an IFI or an individual to solve challenges or advance services.

7. IFI Social Responsibility Award Nomination

o What does "social responsibility" mean in this context? Recognizes IFIs that have undertaken initiatives improving social, cultural, or environmental well-being.

Technical Support FAQs

1. What if I encounter technical issues on Awardify? Awardify provides a help desk feature accessible from the platform's homepage. You can also contact the NACCA support team at awards@nacca.ca.

2. Can I save my progress and return to the form later? Yes, Awardify allows you to save partially completed forms and return to finish them before the deadline.

3. Can I edit my nomination after submitting it? Yes, you can edit your nomination until the submission deadline of February 15, 2025.

Post-Nomination FAQs

1. When will nominees be notified? Finalists will be contacted by April 5, 2024.

2. Do nominees need to attend the NACCA Awards Gala? Attendance is encouraged but not mandatory. Winners will be announced at the event and through NACCA's official channels.

3. Is there going to be a video produced? Winners will be contacted by Aspen Films following to film a vignette which will be shown at the Indigenous Prosperity Foundation Awards Gala in Gatineau, QC.
